Majxsty

Majxsty, born Kimberly Williams, has a heart that beats for the homeless, the hungry, and the hurting. Her soul-stirring lyrics have the ability to reach people right where they are lost and saved alike, because she has walked through dark periods in her own life. It has been because of her faith in the Most High Yah that she has survived and developed a music ministry designed to encourage others. Much of Majxsty’s music, including her second album Come Closer, has been inspired by the Bible. Majxsty says:

“I want my music to be known for using Scriptures to minister to all who hear it.”

Although she did not become saved until the age of 26, Majxsty has always had a love of music burning in her heart. She began rapping and writing at the age 8 years old. Her love for music combined with her love for The Most High and His word has brought forward a desire to serve Him in righteousness, truth and song.

These are just a few words that describe Majxsty’s music and message. “My ministry is about trying to get people to learn and understand the Scriptures for themselves, and to not take the word of anybody as the Gospel truth, including myself.” Her second album Come Closer does just that.

The album Come Closer, which was released in 2008, unleashes Majxsty’s intense passion for God. Songs like Free, Difference, and I Never Knew challenge listeners to evaluate their lives and simply live for God. Her album has been described as “Inspiring” and “Explosive” by some of her fans.

The Come Closer album title came to Majxsty through deep prayer and fasting. She was in the middle of praying about her life’s struggles when she heard The Most High YAH say ”Come closer”. Although it took her several years to heed His call, she finally did and committed herself to the ministry. Due to her steadfast faithfulness and undying dedication to The Most High Yah, He granted her the lyrics for her album.

Throughout the years, Majxsty continued to seek after the Most High and learn through study and much prayer. The Most High opened her eyes in order to be able to understand who He is, and who she is in Him while understanding who she was created to be. The Most High Yah awakened Majxsty, and this awakening brought forward the album called Rise The Transition which was released in 2018. This began Majxsty’s journey into the truth.

Majxsty’s music is inspired by the Scriptures in Bible. She likes to “look at the world for what it is, and for what YAH’s word says it will be.” Her desire is to use the Scriptures in order minister to others through her gift of song. All praises to The Most High YAH!

Beautiful intro. Love the piano riff. Soulful. Love the production. I am surprised to hear harp in a rap. The production is beautiful and layered. I love how the piano plays off the bass, and how she has a good flow. Not something I would usually listen to, but I am happy that I did.

I like it! The opening keyboard sounds pretty synthetic, which might be what you were going for, but I think it would sound better if it were a little more realistic. Also, once all of the layers come in, the vocals are hard to hear, especially over the harp. Really like the lyrics and the message though.

I really like this song. The beat put in the mind of walking up and down staircase.( the highs and lows of life) Who ever wrote the lyrics is a genius! the beat is not fast or slow it kind of steady pace. I lyrics are incredible and her voice is just right. The guy in the background is also talented

I think that this melody is just to die for, the lyrics and instruments were perfectly on the rhythm for the song, and I think that the vocals were at their very best here. The way that the chorus sounded wasn't amazing, but good enough to make me happy. Good composure in the notes as well.

I like the fact that the singer does an intro in the beginning of the song. She definitely gives you a view of the feeling that she has by pouring her soul out on the page. The lyrics strike a common chord by showing feelings which we can all relate to. Ilike that she is able to do this because not only does she present herself in a good way she illustrates her struggle.

Inspirational lyrics with an awesome beat to go with it..just the sort of song that can help you get back up during troubling times.. loved the beats too the songs a lot.. hope more people came up with songs with meaningful lyrics like this one.
